The MacBookPro1,1 is a Core Duo (aka 32-bit only) and that was
released in January 2006.
All Intel based Macs got switched to Core 2 Duo by November 2006 IIRC
starting in September 2006 (well except for maybe the Xserve and Mac
Pro but I cannot recall specifics about those).
