I haven't completely followed this one so excuse me if I'm repeating something already eliminated but have you tried treating this as a LaunchServices error, database or otherwise?

e.g. Duplicate the application and see if the duplicate still has the same error. More drastically clean the LS database.

Google had 31 hits on the error
"LSOpenFromURLSpec() failed with error -10810"

I browsed a couple, not all had solutions shown. One indicated a closed bug due to a corrupted bundle where the first suggestion might work. I also noticed the second suggestion but not sure it was even tried.
