Menu Items stop working under latest Java update

Comrades,

In my Java GUI application, I see my JMenuItems lose their functionality. I choose the menu item, but nothing happens. Strangely, if the item has an accelerator, that works fine, so for the items with accelerators it's not a problem. But not all menu items have accelerators. I'm running on a 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon mac, using OSX 10.5.7. My app is running Java 1.5.0_19 Has anybody else seen this? And will we be seeing a fix any time soon?
