I can attest to this - I use this method in Hexen 2 to bring up the
InputSprocket config dialog. As it happens, on the Voodoo cards (at least
the Voodoo5, not sure about 3) I found that I don't have to reupload
textures when I reattach the context, but I don't think that's a safe
assumption to make.
