Specular in orthographic projections

This is probably just a pure OpenGl question, and not specific to
Mac-opengl.

Given orthographic views (Top/Side/Front), how can I realistically display
specular highlights?
How do I set camera positions in the orthographic views.

Appreciate any help. this is driving me nuts!
