Re: FSAA in glut 3.7 on top of X11

I suspect you are possibly correct. The X11 GLUT is the standard X11 GLUT, without modifications to run on Mac OS X. We support only the ARB_multisample extension and have added the appropriate pixel format params to AGL, CGL and NSOpenGL. I suspect we would to do additional work to support X11 multi-sample. Note, I have not specifically looked at this issue, thus am only guessing at the cause. Please write a bug in any case. <http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter/index.html>

Hi,

I am working on a community-based cross-platform
molecular graphics program that has to work through glut on top of X11
for reasons of ui consistency. We need to get this running with
FSAA, but as far as i can tell, although this is available in carbon
GLUT,
something prevents me successfully requestiong GLUT_MULTISAMPLE in
glutInitDisplayMode when working in glut (installed from fink, or hand
compiled)
over X11, possibly because of a lack of the GLX_SGIS_multisample
extension ?

Am I correct in identifying this problem ? Is there hope for this in
a future version of the X11/GL combination ?

Any help much appreciated,

Martin
