Re: Bugs...

Seems that folks are asking about bugs these days.  Just a reminder...

The only way a bug you find will likely get attention and be fixed is to file a bug report.  Asking questions on this list is great and we encourage it, but it is not at all a substitute for a bug report (even if you discuss the problem with an Apple Engineer).  We do not file bug reports for you and likely never will.  This is because second hand bugs reports are fairly useless, usually wrong is some aspect of the problem and can be a waste of what really is rather precious time.  Filing a bug report allows direct contact if questions arise while investigating a solution and allows you to inquire about your bugs status.

Asking initially on the list serves two purposes as far as I'm concerned: one, I cannot afford to wait 1-4 months for a Radar report to be examined, though occasionally I've received a response in less time than that (if I place some direct emails as well as post to the list with a bug #), and two, if someone reading the list knows the answer, they usually reply and save a lot of time for all parties, as well as saving Apple from processing a bug that is in fact a problem with the developer's code, not theirs. :)
