Re: 1 movie only on my ATI 9800?

Whoa, hold your horses there! I have an app that doesn't use 'GL_UNPACK_CLIENT_STORAGE_APPLE' yet I can play two Sorenson (320x240) movies on my humble B&W G3 (600Mhz G4, 100Mhz bus and gfx on a Radeon 7200) at 60FPS with time to spare.
I suggest there's another performance bottleneck in your application; one key thing I discovered was that the source and destination pixel formats have to be identical or the conversion process will slow it to a crawl.

Want to Make $$$$ with your computer? No Risk! Simply press shift-4 four times in a row.

(Note to the Apple and ATI guys - yeah, I'm not complaining for once - since the last ATI ROM update my Mac hasn't had a single kernel panic. Wahey! ;o)

Yes,
QT can run even 4 movies like this (I duplicated the file and checked).
Anyway, I think I have found the bug. I forgot to activate the following
line in case the client_Storage extension is supported.

    glPixelStorei(GL_UNPACK_CLIENT_STORAGE_APPLE, GL_FALSE);

Now I can quite run 4 movies at the same time. Fiuuuuu.
For a while I thought the G5 was..., but it is still my great Mac.
Only, I think, and when the client_Storage extension is not supported? Poor
users.

Thanks to all of you. Great list.

Best Regards
