Re: Cross-platform Linux/OS X Development w/ SDL

I can think og ONE reason to use makefiles as opposed to the GUI... He is doing a cross platform development project. I use makefiles because I use the same makefile on OSX and Linux having a common build system simplifies a lot of things ESPECIALLY for someone who is familiar with GNU make and not X-Code. I dont use SDL, so I cant really help you getting it working. The previous tip is what you need for getting linking of your app working -framework OpenGL and -framework SDL for example. (They work like specifing -L<dir> -l<library> on linux.

Why would you want to use makefiles at all on the Mac? I know you /can/, but on the nicer environment you might as well take advantage of the graphical tools at your disposal.
