You don't specify what you're using for docs storage and for ldap authentication, but I get the impression that you're not using OS X Server.


Correct. Our LDAP servers are Solaris 9 boxes, and that's extremely unlikely to change. Stanford's networking infrastructure is complicated as all get out, being the strangest mix of legacy equipment and bleeding-edge stuff. I have no control over infrastructure or network services, only over the Mac OS X client boxes.
