RE: Mac OS X computers restarting

Hey Jan.
We are still running 10.2.8 on our lab machines as well. I have them set to
put the display to sleep after 15 minutes, and the hard drives after 1 hour.
It's my understanding that allowing the hard drives to "sleep" cuts down on
the wear of having to spin at operating RPMs constantly.
I have experimented with a freeware application called "Kutdown" which gives
you the ability to schedule shutdowns, restarts, or sleep sessions. Here's
a link to download it if you're interested:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16555
It seems to work great on our test machines. I have not deployed it
throughout the lab as of yet.

Hope the helps,
Matt
