Re: 10.3.3 Cient Error logging in to 10.3.3 Server

Hi Lou,

Have you checked the 89 character path name limit?

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107695

We were having the exact same problem as you. About 5 students in each class
were unable to login, with the same message about the home folder.

And our path name is under the 89n character limit.

I know that this sounds crazy, but we noticed that the students who we
unable to log in all had "long" surnames (our short usernames are first
initial and surname, eg fblackwell)

Remade these users (and their home directories) with shorter usernames (eg
fblack) and they can all login fine. Every single one!

The 89 characters is not supposed to include the home directory's folder
name, but this fix has worked for us. So far!

Warren
