Re: Limit to connectors with file sharing?

I am trying to set up a central folder for a network-capable typing program
(Ultra-key 4) in my lab. I have set keyboarding as an account on my teacher
computer and given it guest access only to the necessary management folder.
I want to put the network icon for this account in each users startup folder
so that when they log in it automatically places the icon for this account
on their desktop. The application (Ultra-key) can then be set up to write
to that folder. However, I have run into an unexpected difficulty. It
seems that there is a limit to the amount of people who can log on at a time
with the file serve that is a part of os x 10.3. I don't have budget for a
server program. Does anyone know of a workaround for this?

Ps. I thought of assigning maybe five computers each of five other
computers, which could act as servers. This isn't a great solution because,
instead of one file to manage the keyboarding program, it makes 5. Still,
better than 30, but...any other ideas?

There is the same limit with 'personal' file sharing under the standard OS as with OS-9. It is 10 users, with no workaround that I have ever heard of..

Remember though that this is *simultaneous* access. If users don't need to remain logged in to the share, then get them trained up to only log in when they need to....
