This is easily solved; just bind the master machine to AD, add the AD
plugin to its Authentication tab, then un-bind the machine. Then go
make your netrestore image and clone the machine. This way, you really
do only have to use dsconfigad to make it work.

(this is what I do in my lab, it works just fine)
