Re: PAM?!

After talking with someone from Apple, the impression I got was that
PAM existed for a few legacy Unix services, but it wasn't used at all
by the GUI login window (that's pure Open Directory). Open Directory
takes over many of the roles played by PAM and NSS/NIS/NIS+/Active
Directory/Netinfo in various other OS flavors/versions.

(Local Netinfo is still one potential factor.)
