Hi Troy,

I have a 15" TiBook with an Adaptec 1480 SlimSCSI card. The
OSX drivers have been in beta 1 for two years now. My first and
only kernel panic on my TiBook was trying to hot swap with this
card, but that is generally a bad idea with SCSI devices. I have
not had problems connecting and using SCSI drives in OSX.
In my head, I like that I am using "real" SCSI, not some USB
or firewire to SCSI adapter, but Adaptec's support of this
device in OSX is questionable given the still in beta state of
their drivers for it. Maybe not the best solution, but it is a
solution.
My primary reason for having the Adaptec card is use of an
old high end film scanner in OS 9, but OSX functionality is
certainly a bonus.
