RE: Two Items -

Being a former Windows person, the method I use to keep students from saving
to the desktop is lame but is to set the desktop permissions for the student
account to "read only" (\Users\username\Desktop) This of course only worked
because we have generic, local accounts that the students use on the Macs.
I also had to remember to change the settings for programs that want to save
or download files to the desktop by default. (IE, Netscape, screen capture,
etc).

We are also fortunate enough to have Mac students that don't know how to
check their desktop permissions and realize they can change them themselves.

If any of our students are on this mailing list, I'm hosed.
