No one asked for my opinion, but I spent a bunch of time on one project once ripping out libcurl and CURLHandle code and replacing it with NSURLConnection/CFNetwork and friends. libcurl was untold headaches. It may have made sense on 10.1, back when NSURLHandle was all we had, but it absolutely does not make sense now.

Thanks (and sorry for the poorly formulated question, I'm certainly interested in others' opinions, as well :) )... Do you have any particular horror stories to share?

OS9-type technologies were around for 20 years. We might see the OSX stuff go out of fashion in fifteen years, then.

CFNetwork already has some deprecated APIs (though easily replaceable with more modern ones, I admit). CFHTTPReadStreamSetRedirectsAutomatically: AVAILABLE_MAC_OS_X_VERSION_10_1_AND_LATER_BUT_DEPRECATED_IN_MAC_OS_X_VERSION_10_3.
