Not quite sure what you're asking -- I'm using SDK 2.1 on an iPod touch, with the sendSynchronousRequest API as previously noted..
I have not seen this happen in the simulator so far.
It's interesting that it only happens with sendSynchronousRequest:returningResponse:error...
I'll mock up a quick test to see if I can't reproduce.
