Re: Progressive download kills my OSXS

Last week I reported a problem in which downloading QT files to my browser caused my OSXS to lose its network connection. Here's an update:

It now appears that this problem occurs anytime I try to download a large files. Uploading is fine; no problems occur. But as soon as I try to download a lot of data, doesn't matter if it's through the Apache web server or AppleShare server, the network connection just stops. When I go to the server it appears to be normal, all processes are still running. But I can't see the server either as FTP, web, or Appleshare client. When I restart the server, all services are back on line.

I have switched to a different ethernet port on my 4-port card (I had been using the built-in ethernet card) to see if it might be a problem with that card. Too soon to tell if that will fix the problem.

Has anyone seen a problem like this? Can anyone suggest a fix?
