So my question is, why Apple includes sendmail with OS X Server?
The best server (like OS X) should have the best mail server, so why not qmail?

Since about 70% of the Internet's email moves with sendmail, it is
arguably the most flexible and robust. It is a part of the BSD UNIX
distribution upon which Apple's flavor of UNIX is partially based.

Allow me to paraphrase: "90% of personal computers run Windows, therefore it is the most flexible and robust."

Quick! Everybody run Linux... more people use it. Need I say more?

FWIW, I have a friend who's quite the Linux jock. He recommends replacing sendmail with qmail and BIND with djbdns due to the eternal security holes being found in both. he also cites size and speed.

Personally, I have no opinion; I run CommuniGate Pro and _love_ it and QuickDNS on Mac OS and will love that even more when it's on OS X.
