Re: Short name longer than 8 characters?

Open netinfo manager
Applications -> Utilities -> Netinfo manager
Click on the padlock
Enter Your password to make changes
Scroll down to "users" in the "directory browser"
Select a user
Change the "name" property

This should only effect the short name and not the users directory name.

Hmm. I've found that tho the Server Admin won't let you set a long short
name, NetInfo Manager has no problems with it. Is this bad then if I set
longer short names here? I haven't seen any problems so far (~3 months).
