DHCP

I have a server that has been serving out DHCP addresses to Mac OS 9 client
machines for a while now. This morning the power went out. The server was
shutdown correctly (UPS kept it up long enough to do that). About half of
the client machines instantly shutdown and the other half were shutoff from
the night before.

Power is restored, and everything works except the clients are not getting
DHCP addresses assigned to them. According to Server Admin, DHCP is still
configured properly and has started. In /etc/inetd.conf the bootp section is
uncommented. I can give static IP addresses to the clients and everything
works great. We have tried deleting the TCP/IP preferences on a client
machine with no effect (I realize it pretty much has to be the server).
bootpd never seems to start. Tomorrow I will be taking an OS X client to the
area to see what is coming back from the server. The error logs are not
really telling me much. Any other ideas of what may be going on or
suggestions. I have restarted the DHCP service with Server Admin, and
restarted the machine. The machine seems to be in good working order except
DHCP.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Rob Morton
