This may not be what you want to hear, but I would concur with Adobe's position on not opening and saving files from any application across a network other than those specifically designed to do so, such as FileMaker through their own sharing setup.
This is based on high end experience with applications and networks since 1985 in service bureau environments and high end graphics shops._______________________________________________
If you adhere to that, you have no problem...
