We recently installed an Xserve which is running OSX 10.1.5. I ran into a
problem immediately with Adobe Photoshop 6.0.1 when I open a Photoshop file
off of the server, modify it, and choose save, I get an error that says
"Cannot save file because a file with this name already exists." At that
point, the file on the server becomes locked and cannot be deleted. If I
open the file off of the server and save it to a different directory and
then copy it via the finder, it allows me to overwrite the original file
without any problems. The computer that is running photoshop is running mac
OS 9.2.2. Had anybody else experienced this problem? Oh and to add to this
issue, I called Adobe about it and they said that Adobe's official stance is
"Don't save your files across the network". Oh O.K. - No Problem. Any help
is greatly appreciated.
