The form mailer Cgi is running as the UID of the web server, which doesn't
have permission to write to those directories.

Is this Matt's script archive formmail? If so, DON'T USE IT. See archives of
this list from the last couple of weeks somewhere for a discussion of it and
alternatives.

Your basic problem is that the form mailer is running as a user that can't
send mail the way the form mailer is trying to send it. Given there are many
ways for it to be screwing this up, I can't tell you what to fix. The best
fix, however, is to use one that sends mail via the SMTP port and not trying
to write directly to the directories, however, to avoid stuff like this in
the first place.

It's possible you might be able to fix it by adding your web server to the
group the mailer is running under.
