Re: XServe ethernet ports

I upgraded an Xserve to 10.2.5 a few days ago and I had to change the DNS and then I got a message that there was a new Adapter. I'm guessing it has something to do with IP over FireWire.

I just got a brand new XServe with a video card and gigabit card with only 1
port. I am currently using the onboard gigabit as the active interface. As
far as I can tell, there are only 2 ethernet ports on this server - onboard
and on the PCI card installed by Apple. When I go to the network control
panel it lists 3 ethernet ports!: Built-In Ethernet, PCI Ethernet Slot 1,
and Ethernet Adapter (en2). Each one has a unique MAC address. Is there a
hidden ethernet port on these XServes that I'm missing?

PS. it is true about the slot-loading XServes... They are pretty darn quiet
compared to the original XServe and Compaq DL 360s.
