Problems w/MySQL-based Exim 4.14, Courier 1.7.0, etc. for MOSXS v.10.2.x

Hey, George, I rebooted my test server today, after which I got this message when attempting to log into the "mailAdmin" interface, originally set up as per your instructions at captainnet.net:

Error #1017: Can't find file: './email_db/passwd.frm' (errno: 13)

I've changed exactly *nothing*, so I'm wondering what might have gone wrong here. Any suggestions?

For what it's worth, my SLP DA seems to be flaky, too, as the Server Settings GUI tool reports that it's in an unknown state. I also notice that there's a file in /usr/bin called "slpd", and one called "slpd.orig" so now I'm really beginning to wonder what's up.

IMAP, POP3, and SMTP all seem to be running, although I notice that in /var/log/mail.log, that Courier's complaining. Here's what it's saying:

Apr 30 17:05:20 zaius pop3d: Connection, ip=[127.0.0.1]
Apr 30 17:05:29 zaius imapd: Connection, ip=[127.0.0.1]
Apr 30 17:05:37 zaius imapd: DISCONNECTED, ip=[127.0.0.1], headers=0, body=0
Apr 30 17:14:53 zaius imapd: Connection, ip=[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
Apr 30 17:14:58 zaius imapd: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]

The last two lines are me trying to log in from my workstation. The Exim log in /var/spool/exim/log/mainlog shows this:

2003-04-30 17:08:30 exim 4.14 daemon started: pid=447, -q30m, listening for SMTP on port 25 (IPv4)
2003-04-30 17:08:30 Start queue run: pid=448
2003-04-30 17:08:30 HE67YC-0003I0-GC Message is frozen
2003-04-30 17:08:30 HE4DL7-0000S5-44 Message is frozen
2003-04-30 17:08:30 End queue run: pid=448

TIA for any guidance you can offer this poor, tired soul.

Best,

Ted Dively
