Re: User Imports with 10.2

Gene,
What version of OSX server are you running? I think the 8 character truncation was fixed in 10.2.3 or 10.2.4, but I could be mistaken. Also, I think once a short name is established, it can't be changed, only added to. I think the first short name is used as a unique record identifier.

Anybody have any experience in user imports? I've got a new 10.2 server

The short name is truncated to 8 characters. But if I manually add a user,
I can enter a longer shortname. Also after importing users, it doesn't let
me change the imported users' shortname, just add a new one.

How do I have the server use the full shortname I've specified in my
import file? What server/NetInfo settings must I change?
