Using 10.4.7 server and I'm wondering what the current thoughts are for using links in a website (www.raoset.com/hosting) vs. subdomains (hosting.raoset.com) Is there any speed benefit to either one? scalability issues? Just plan dumb choices?

Using subdomains is interesting if you plan to add many machines on the same domain : one for the web server, one for SMTP, one for POP... It is much more flexible.

However, if you have a single web server and think the charge *will* indeed explode, I don't see a lot of interest for using subdomains. Unless you have different content to provide on each sub-domain (see ign.com as an exemple : they have cube.ign.com, wii.ign.com, ds.ign.com, and so on), I don't really see a huge interest.
