Re: Where can I find error code meanings in AppleFileService logs?

There are logs in /Library/Logs/AppleFileService, and I'm primarily concerned with entries in /L/Logs/AppleFileService/ AppleFileServiceAccess.log. Here's an example entry:

IP 000.000.000.000 - - [04/Jan/2006:10:23:21 -0500] "OpenFork 23326.emlx" -5006 0 0

(I changed the IP address to 000.000.000.000 in this email). The numeric codes at the end of the entry seem to mean something, especially the -5006. I was hoping to find out what they mean.

It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing:

	http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=9804

For instance:

	-5006	afpDenyConflict	AFP Deny conflict

Smells strongly of a "permission denied" message, though http:// docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301377 makes it sound like it could be a space issue. One way or another, AFP denied the request.

In general, search Apple's KB with "error ####" (do not include the negative sign) and you'll get some hits for the common errors. If you include the negative sign you're telling the search engine to omit that word, but it searches fine without it so just drop it.
