What kind of processing power would we need to be able to do just these 3 functions. Would a mini be able to handle this? What if we just had a dns and web server, would the mini be able to handle it with server software? In 1995 I used a Mac SE 30 as a DNS server, and found that it may have been cool and a great conversation piece, it was totally inadequate for the job. You may be able to take one of these services and run it on the mini and have it actually work for some time, but the end result will meet the same fate I had. I still have the SE 30, it looks cool sitting among all my xserves :) --j |
