If you're only able to get in remotely, your routers, firewall and such should (most likely) come back after the power is up. Not every box on a site has to be an XServe. Typically, I'll stick an OBSD box somewhere on site, just for the purpose of being able to ssh in. I can send WOL from there. You can apply similar tactics.
