Well, if you're in an Exchange environment, it's the most logical choice.
To use Mail, you have to enable IMAP/POP and SMTP on the Exchange server.
You may also have to enable some non-default authentication mechanisms
depending on how integrated with Active Directory your macs are.
Address Book requires LDAP, and you have to make sure you enter your user ID
correctly. There's no easy way to get iCal to talk to Exchange without third
party applications.
But if you're running Exchange, which means you're also running Active
Directory, you need to have a good IT staff, or, to be blunt, you're
screwed.
