Re: dhcp with control over mac address

Hi Josh,

Thanks Josh. There was a way to do this using netboot. It was tricky because "Netboot" service doesn't necessarily have to be ON in order for this to work. I simply enable Built-in Ethernet port, check "images" and "client data" boxes on server harddrive, then enable netboot/dhcp filtering box under filters tab. Once this configuration is completed, NetBoot controls BootP to send information.

Thanks Jose once again.

Hyuk

I'm running 10.4 Server with dhcp service. We're targeting specific machines in our lab to use this service and blocking out other machines from gain access to ip addresses. Is there a way to filter out specific lab machines against mac addresses? Thank you in advance.

You can use the filter list in the NetBoot settings to restrict DHCP.

Josh
