Tomcat on Mac OS X server: requested resource not available?

I am trying to turn on Tomcat on my Mac OS X server

I think I have turned it on successfully through the 'Application Server'
interface of the 'Server Admin' application. If I go to

http://localhost:8080/

I see that it is active.

However, if I go to

http://localhost:8080/examples/servlets

I see this:

HTTP Status 404 - /examples/servlets
type Status report
message /examples/servlets
description The requested resource (/examples/servlets) is not available.

Apache Tomcat/4.1.29

Instead of installing new software, I am just trying to use what
automatically came with Mac OS X Server Version 10.4.8, which is
Tomcat 4.1.29

Thank you for your suggestions and advice,
-- Dan --
