It seems that there is a difference of opinion over on the mailman list. Although folks on that list do attempt to be helpful they do express that they can not support the mailman installation on Mac OSX Server (any version) because they claim that Apple has made modifications to the installation and does things differently. (I can attest to this being the case by the way.) Beyond a certain rudimentary point we are on our own with Mailman. There is little support from the Mailman community and little from Apple itself. At best we need to find a way to share our experience and knowledge among each other. I do appreciate all of the questions and sharing on this list about the mailman installation. For me it has been the best source of information and help.


I might point out that the same applies to other open source apps bundled with Mac OS X Server, such as mysql and the crippled weblog stuff. Apple has even put its own twist on BIND, etc. I like the tools that Apple supplies and I like working with them, but I would like to make the point that this list is the very best place to discuss topics like this.
