Remote Access log in for OS X servers via a web page

I work in public schools in NSW, Australia. It is currently possible to connect to Windows Terminal Servers through the Dept Of Education & Training network (firewalled) vLan) via their staff portal. This is achieved through an Activex plug-in in IE. After this access has been set up by the vLan admins, the server appears as if in Windows Remote Desktop, in a web page. The servers are all in the 10.x.x.x range and have never been accessible outside the schools network before.

For public schools admin staff this is naturally <a big thing>. Principals have <never> been able to access their files outside of school before.

Could this be possible for Mac servers? Imagine ARD as a web plug-in. I am aware of Webmin, but this is not the same. This is a log-in screen the same as ARD.

The point of my thread: Theoretically possible any time soon? Or not? At the moment, this only works for Windows servers, from clients running IE. (For me, via Parallels). This could be a very important moment in the fight to keep Apple servers in public education in this country . . . _______________________________________________
