Re: Question about UNIX permissions



Thanks to those that replied you've pointed me in the right direction. Also, just so you know, the mail store is still performing normally. Access to mail is not affected by this.

Now, it appears that ACLs have been activated on various sub-directories of the mail store but not to any of the mail files themselves and of course I don't know how that happened. The other thing is that although ACL have been activated, no permissions appear to have been applied.

Combing through the man page for chmod I'm not clear on how to de-activate ACLs or even if that is at all possible once they been activated.

Does anybody know for sure?
