Re: Server Monitor can not connect

I have a new Xserve with LOM here. I can't connect with Server Monitor from another computer on the same LAN. It displays forever that it is "Waiting for response". Other Xserves with the same Mac OS X Server 10.4.9 work flawlessly. Though those are G5s.
Interestingly, I can connect from localhost all the time. So one could think, that it is a firewall problem. But no firewall is running.
DNS and reverse DNS works:

	# host myserver
	myserver.domain.ch has address 1.2.3.4
	# host 1.2.3.4
	4.3.2.1.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer myserver.domain.ch.

The logs don't give any hint. I reinstalled the system with no change. I also can connect to this server from Server Admin.

Has anybody an idea, where the problem could be?

You must configure the LOM in an Xserve Intel to use Server Monitor remotely with it.

Remember to use the Server Admin tools that came with your Xserve on the computer you're using to access the server remotely. The older Server Admin tools may not work with the LOM on Xserve Intel.
