What is the best practice for setting up two servers in two different locations?
I thought the following setup: (the VPN link is on a 1~2 Mbit/s line, not very fast)
Main office
OD Master
DNS - Primary zone
Home folders for people at the main office
Branch Office
P2P VPN to main office.
OD Replica
DNS - Secondary zone.
Home folders for people at the branch office
Now, the question is how to copy or sync a few home folders of people that will be working in both places?
Should I use rsync every night to move some home folders back and forth?
Any other idea?I think your best bet will be to set those users to sync manually, and instruct them to only sync at whatever location their particular server is at. Instruct them to sync two or three times a day, like when they first come in in the morning, mid-day, and just before they leave for the evening.
