It should still be avoided so the fact that it may no longer barf all over itself is moot.

Hi Dan, it'd be great if you could elaborate on why it should still be avoided.

Hasn't this come up over and over and over again here???

I've followed discussions on this topic for a while now but maybe I missed something since I always thought the main problem with rsync in tiger was EAs. And it's supposed to be fixed now.

That is just *a* problem, of which there are many. If it were just a matter of EAs or ACLs those always worked.


Yet another example of why rsync should be avoided is that it uses the brain-damaged copyfile()
