 Hi Dan, it'd be great if you could elaborate on why it should still
 be avoided. I've followed discussions on this topic for a while now
 but maybe I missed something since I always thought the main problem
 with rsync in tiger was EAs. And it's supposed to be fixed now.

I thought he was stating that we should avoid installing 10.4.9. Maybe
he needs to be clearer on his posts like he is always yelling at other
people to.

The clear subject of discussion, which perhaps you missed rather glaringly in the ^$%%^&^ subject line, was rsync.
