Re: No logon with smb / AD users (10.4.9 update?)

Can you run the following command:

sudo killall -USR1 DirectoryService.

This will put Directory Service into debug....

What errors do you get in the Directory Service Debug log located in /Library/Logs/DirectoryService/DirectoryServicedebug.log when an AD user tries to log in?

I did have an issue the other week where the "winbind separator=+" was causing a very similar issue, but let's check the log to see if it's the same problem....

Hi David

Thanks for trying to help me. Meanwhile, I restarted the server, unbound and rebound to AD twice, and all of a sudden, it's working again. Don't ask me why, I haven't got any clue...
and it even works WITHOUT uncommenting "auth methods" in smb.conf, which was ABSOLUTELY necessary before. Maybe they really changed something with 10.4.9?

Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it stays that way.

Thanks again,

Tina
