Re: rsync [was Re: 10.4.9 just hit the streets]

Can anyone on MacOSX Client 10.4.9 PPC (8P135) reproduce the issue I describe more in detail here?

Given machines A and B (the following commands should be fine, but haven't been checked in the present form)

first on machine A:

touch /tmp/testaclfile
chmod +a "root allow read" /tmp/testaclfile

and then one of the following:

1) scp /tmp/testaclfile B:/tmp/

2) rsync -augvE /tmp/testaclfile B:/tmp/

3) cd /tmp; tar cf testaclfile.tar testaclfile ; scp /tmp/ testaclfile.tar B:/tmp/

then on machine B:

1 & 2) ls -le /tmp/testaclfile

3) cd /tmp
   tar xf testaclfile
   ls -le .

Result from ls:

1 & 2)

[...]
Unable to translate qualifier on ACL
0: <UNKNOWN> allow read

3)

testaclfile split in two, a data and a metadata part, with the metadata carrying the same broken ACE as above.

Thank you

Giuliano
