I see that now. I had some misconceptions. The conceptual
grouping of all the metadata associated with the getattrlist (and
related) system calls is what I was calling "Finder info" (based
off some other research and code I had looked into). Apple appears
to call all of this "file system attributes."
I usually refer to this as "file system metadata," which basically
includes the information you'd find in the catalog and attributes
files of an HFS+ volume. I contrast that with "file metadata,"
which I take to mean things like EXIF and ID3 information. The term
"metadata" can mean a lot of things. The prefix "meta" simply means
self-referential. I find making use of other adjectives works well
to describe the specific type of metadata to which I am referring.
