replacing a self-signed cert on 10.4.1

I used the GUI tool to replace a self-signed cert with one from Geo trust, However on saving the new cert it gives an error while writing sessions and the logs say

mymachine-mybuilding-myuni-edu servermgrd: servermgr_info: [118812992] [CertificateManager addSignedCertificate:]: Common Names of unsigned(@) and signed(@) certificates do not match!
