Re: problems with email preferences

Philip,

Sounds like the user has a message index file corrupted. The solution:

1. Quit Apple Mail
2. Go to ~/Library/Mail and delete "Envelope Index" file.
3. Restart Apple Mail.

It will re-import all the messages in all the local mailboxes and re-index all the messages in the database. It should fix your problem.

Thanks,

--Igor

To all,

I have open directory users. For some reason when a user uses the default apple client email program the emails that are listed in the application do not match the message body. Sometimes there is an error that the message can not be found.

That sounds too bad, but doesn't sound like a problem with OS X Server.

Have you tried rebuilding/resynchronizing the users mailboxes?
