Back to the virtualization discussion. The Mac OS X Server 10.5
license agreement states:
2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions.
A. Mac OS X Server Software. This License allows you to install
and use one copy of the Mac OS X Server software (the "Mac OS X
Server Software") on a single Apple-labeled computer. You may also
install and use other copies of Mac OS X Server Software on the
same Apple-labeled computer, provided that you acquire an
individual and valid license from Apple for each of these other
copies of Mac OS X Server Software.
This explicitly allows virtualization of Mac OS X Server 10.5 on
Apple-branded hardware. Since VMWare and Parallels have both said
they would be interested in virtualizing Mac OS X Server if Apple
allowed it, it will be interesting to see where this leads.
A supported installation of something like VMWare ESX Server able to
virtualize multiple instances of Mac OS X Server on a single Xserve
(not to mention any other ESX Server-supported OSes!) would be a
very interesting proposition for many.
Here, most of our Xserves sit idle, but need to be distinct
installations of Mac OS X Server for a variety of reasons. It would
be wonderful to consolidate multiple installations onto one server,
which would really help cut costs and make Mac OS X Server an
attractive option for many tasks again.
While the EULA for Mac OS X 10.5 (non-Server) does not include this
change, it's reasonable to assume that any virtualization product
capable of running Mac OS X Server 10.5 may also be able to, from a
purely technical perspective, run Mac OS X 10.5 (and possibly even
Mac OS X 10.4.x (Intel) and Mac OS X Server 10.4.x (Universal) as
well).

SWEET! Thanks for bringing that to our attention Dave - we're in the
same boat as you with a good handful of applications here.
This is the best feature of 10.5 yet.
