my setup:
non production machine running mac os x 10.5 server
open directory master
dns server running on open directory master
static ip address
forward and reverse dns records set up on dns for the open directory
master.
firewall off
service ACL set to everyone for all services
when i try to connect to a pptp vpn from a 10.5 client to the 10.5
server above (from the LAN, ie, no routers involved) i get the
following error message:
Thu Nov 1 02:12:39 2007 : CHAP peer authentication succeeded for admin
Thu Nov 1 02:12:39 2007 : DSAccessControl plugin: User 'admin'
authorized for access
Thu Nov 1 02:12:39 2007 : MPPE required, but keys are not available.
Possible plugin problem?
Thu Nov 1 02:12:39 2007 : sent [LCP TermReq id=0x2 "MPPE required but
not available"]
when i then run the following commands:
$ dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 -list /Users
admin
marknassy
root
# vpnaddkeyagentuser /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1
Enter admin name for node /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1:admin
Password:
$ dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 -list /User
admin
marknassy
root
if i try to connect via pptp vpn i get the same error message listed
above. ipsec vpn connection attempt gives the same error message. does
anyone have any suggestions for further troubleshooting?
